Presumably this eliminates any State tax on gold and silver in Florida, but it leaves a question mark about the Federal collectables tax. It isn't practical to exchange gold or silver for goods and services if you must also track and pay the capital gains tax at the Federal level. As a practical matter, it would be nearly impossible if you transacted mainly in gold.
